Executive Function (EF) means the brain's ability to engage with and absorb information, to interpret it and then make decisions based upon it. Attention to a student's EF underpins all other discussions, but it is not always explored in sufficient depth or subtlety before suggesting action plans and fixing targets. It needs to be an integral part of the planning for personalised learning programmes. But how?
